Experience Ireland Wild & West | Sligo/Westport to Killarney

The hum of traditional music leads us though the 'Wild West of Ireland', from the spectacular beauty of Connemara, with its silent valleys, pristine fjords and fairytale castles, to the lonesome Aran Islands, where soft-hearted villages welcome us into their laid-back lives.

  • You'll experience Ireland’s wild beauty on leisurely walking trails and exhilarating bike rides through the untouched scenery of the 'Wild West', as we weave our way along the spectacular Atlantic Coast, from Connemara and the Aran Islands to Killarney.

We'll revel in bohemian Galway city, before walking and biking in the tortured stone landscape of the Burren, amid its myriad of traditional villages and ancient ruins, to view Ireland's most spectacular cliffs at Moher. The rugged Dingle Peninsula takes to us to 'the edge of the world', where we enjoy splendid walks and bike rides of the scenic Slea Headland, before seeking out traditional music in Dingle's famed 'hidden pubs'. One of the highlights of this week is yet to come, with a day in stunning Killarney National Park, where we'll explore on foot, bike or kayak (optional). After a scrumptious picnic in the grounds of Ross Castle, we'll take to the waves for an open boat ride across Killarney's magical lakes, to a path which threads its way through the rugged Gap of Dunloe. This fun-packed week comes to an end with a beautiful walk back through the Gap, to Kate Kearney's Cottage, a traditional pub which marks the trail's end.
